Fukushima Pref. has five National Treasures. One is Shiramizu Amidado building in Iwaki City. The other four treasures are in Aizu region. Three of them belong to Shojoji Temple in Yugawa Village and the last one is in Ryukoji Temple in Aizumisato Town. Reservation is required for the disclosure of these National Treasures.

 Yakushinyorai (the Buddha of Healing) statue, Nikko Bodhisattva statue, and Gakko Bodhisattva statue are the National Treasures. They are wooden statues created in 9th century. There are also ten other old statues in the temple all of which are National Important Cultural Properties.

 Ryukoji Temple (Aizumisato Town): Map

 Ichijirendai Lotus Sutra is a National Treasure which belongs to Ryukoji Temple. Each of the Chinese characters is written on a lotus flower of various colors. Nine remaining scrolls out of ten are considered to have been written more than 800 years ago.
